Trip details

We love teeing it up on a Top 100 track as much as the next golfer.

But the golfing world is a much smaller place in 2023. Hidden gems are not so hidden in a world of Top 100 Rankings and Insta-friendly scenery. And pent up demand from our American friends means that tee sheets across Scotland and Ireland are already fully booked.

We’ve been talking about putting together a Sounder golf trip for a while. So we’re delighted to introduce our travel debut for 2023 - a true adventure to explore the little-known links of Iceland.

This incredible trip includes some once-in-a-lifetime experiences - the hot springs of the Blue Lagoon, a trip to the volcanic island of Vestmannaeyjar, a glacier walk, the waterfalls of Skógafoss and the Golden Circle, and a chance to explore Iceland’s capital Rekyjavik.

But we’ve also lined up some top-notch golf. Including Kellir and Brautarholt - the two top-ranked courses in the country - plus the truly unique opportunity to tee off at 9pm and play under the midnight sun.

The tour is hosted by our experienced on-the-ground team in Iceland, and includes a dedicated driver/guide, all golf, excursions and accommodation. Numbers are limited to a maximum group size of 12, allowing us to ensure a high-quality experience and ensuring there will be plenty of opportunity to share this amazing trip with like-minded golfers.

Please note that flights are not included - but we can happily help you find suitable flight options.

Pay a 10% deposit to secure your place now. Deposits will be refunded if we do not receive enough confirmed bookings to run the trip - we will confirm by mid-March 2023. Please see the sample itinerary tab - and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions:

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 - Monday 19 June: Arrival, Blue Lagoon and golf at Keilir Golf Course

Our driver will pick up guests from the airport and head the Blue Lagoon, where we’ll kick the trip off in style with a reserved package that includes entrance, a mud mask, a towel and a free drink. We’ll then head to Keiler Golf Course, widely regarded as the best course on the island, before retiring to our accommodation in the holiday cottages at Hellishólar, where bed and breakfast are included.

Day 2 - Tuesday 20 June: Ferry and golf on Vestmannaeyjar

After breakfast our driver will take us to catch the ferry to the island of Vestmannaeyjar, where we have a 12 noon tee-time at the the Westman Islands Golf Club. After golf, we can enjoy a tour of the island and it’s puffin colony, and see the evidence of the 1973 volcanic eruption that forced the entire population of the island to be evacuated. We’ll return to the main island by ferry for a second night at the cottages.

Day 3 - Wednesday 21 June:  Glacier Walk, Skógafoss waterfall, Golden Circle Tour and golf at Broutarholt

We’ll check out after breakfast and head to the Sólheimajökull glacier for a private guided walk, before continuing to the waterfall at Skógafoss and the stunning landscape of the Golden Circle. After lunch we’ll continue to the Gullfoss waterfall and hot springs,.before driving to the Þingvellir National Park, where there might be time for a quick walk before our 9pm tee time at the stunning 12-hole Brautarholt Golf Club. We’ll finish up under the midnight sun before heading into Rekyjavik, where a warm welcome awaits at the Hotel Klettur.

Day 4 - Thursday 22 June:  Reykjavík/Departure

Depending on your flight time, you’ll have an opportunity to explore Iceland’s capital Rekyjavik, before our driver transfers everyone to the airport.
