Waterproofs sound like such a simple idea.

It's just an extra layer than you stuff in your bag if the forecast looks a bit dodgy, and hope that you won't actually need them. If it's just a friendly knock then you can always seek shelter in the clubhouse, watching raindrops run down the windows while you tuck into a Guinness or two.

But when you need to play on through, you need your waterproofs to stand up and deliver. You need to stay dry, but you also need to be able to swing the club. You need to keep the rain off, but also let the sweat out.

The new Sounder waterproof is a proud collaboration with Protected Species, an independent British brand who specialise in performance waterproofs. The founding team have spent their whole careers designing and manufacturing technical apparel for major brands, before setting out to launch Protected Species - building a cult following from customers who value quality, performance and style over garish branding or flashy marketing.

Their fabric is tested to a Waterproof Rating (WR) of 15,000mm/H20/24 - which means its lab-tested by forcing water through a hyrdostatic head for 24 hours. We've also extensively tested the jacket on the course over many months, and are so confident about its performance that the jacket is guaranteed to be waterproof for two years from purchase.

The fabric is  quiet, so you'll get none of that annoying rustle on your backswing. And It's got just enough stretch to accommodate a full-blooded driver swing.

But the fabric is only part of the story. The precision manufacturing process uses lasers so panels fit together perfectly, while all seams are heat-welded. We use high-quality YKK waterproof zips on both the front opening and two deep pockets, while adjustable velcro cuffs and an elasticated hem allow you to create a perfect fit.

All Sounder clothes are designed to fit comfortably, with enough room for a full swing of the golf club without any loose fabric getting in the way.

Our warehouse operates from Monday to Friday, and we aim to dispatch orders with 48 hours of receipt. During exceptionally busy periods we may take slightly longer - please use the link in your confirmation email to check your shipping status.

UK orders

All UK orders will be shipped by DPD Local, and will be charged at £5.95 per delivery. Orders over £100 qualify for free shipping via DPD Local. DPD provide delivery updates via email and SMS, which require us to share an email address and mobile number with them.

International orders

We ship to any country that accepts DHL Express. At this time this includes:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic Of Korea, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UK and the United States.

Your shipping cost includes the cost of EU duties and taxes, which will be managed by our shipping partner DHL. Local charges may still apply please check with your local authorities before ordering. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout, and are based on your shipping address and the size and weight of the items that you are purchasing.

All non UK orders of £250 or more are eligible for free shipping. All other non-UK orders are charged a flat shipping rate of £25 via our shipping partner DHL.

Additional taxes or duty fees upon delivery

UK VAT (sales tax) is applied to orders dispatched to the UK. Please be aware that orders delivered outside the United Kingdom may attract additional import duty or local sales tax.
